Summary
Yeshu Vachan is an offline Bible reader. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. Every one of its 31,102 verses is stored inside the app, so reading, searching, bookmarking and note-taking all work with no internet connection at all. There are no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Information we collect
None. The app does not collect any personal data, device identifiers, location, contacts, or usage analytics.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following only on your own device, so that your reading experience is preserved between sessions:
- Bookmarked verses and any notes you attach to them
- Reading preferences such as language, text size and light/dark theme
- The last chapter you were reading, and your reading progress, streak and badges
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer or anyone else. Uninstalling the app removes it. On Android you can also clear it at any time through Settings → Apps → Yeshu Vachan → Clear storage.
Sharing verses
When you use the Share feature, the verse (as text or as a picture card) is handed to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp or Messages) through your phone's standard share sheet. What happens to it afterwards is governed by the privacy policy of the app you selected.
Permissions
The app requests no special permissions. It does not access your camera, microphone, contacts or location.
When the app uses the internet
The app is usable with no connection. When one is available it makes these requests, and no others:
- The verse of the day. A small schedule file from yeshuvachan.com saying which verse to show on which day, and, for days given one, that day's background photo. Without a connection the app falls back to its built-in list and backgrounds.
- Sharing. Only when you choose to share a verse, and only to the app you pick.
None of these send anything about you, what you read, or what you have saved. The yeshuvachan.com server does not store your IP address or anything else that identifies you or your device; it only counts how many requests arrive each day from Android and from iPhone. Like any website, the hosting provider's systems may briefly keep standard access logs for security.
Third-party services
The app does not include any third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, or crash reporting.
The website, yeshuvachan.com, is separate from the app: it uses Google Analytics to count visits to its pages. That applies only when you browse the website, never inside the app.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. It is rated suitable for everyone.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change. The current policy is always available at the link provided in the Google Play and App Store listings.
