Answer
How to read the Bible every day in Hindi: streaks, reading plans and badges
In the यीशु वचन (Yeshu Vachan) app, a reading day counts when you finish a chapter: scroll to its last verse, or tap the next-chapter button beneath it. Read on consecutive days and your streak grows; it stays alive if your last chapter was yesterday, and only breaks once a whole day ends with nothing finished. There are 17 badges, from your first chapter to all 66 books, and everything is stored on your phone only.
What counts as reading
The app never asks you to tick a box. Opening a chapter and reading to the end is enough: when the last verse scrolls into view, or when you tap the next or previous button that sits under it, that chapter is recorded as read for today. Each chapter counts once, however many times you return to it, so chapters read is a real measure of how much of the Bible you have covered, not how often you opened the app.
Streak rules
- Consecutive days. Your current streak is the number of days in a row, ending today or yesterday, on which you finished at least one chapter.
- A day of grace, by design. If you read yesterday but have not read yet today, the streak still shows, and the Progress screen tells you whether today is done. The streak only breaks when a day passes with no chapter finished.
- Longest streak is kept. When a streak ends, the count starts again from your next chapter, but your longest streak is remembered and badges earned on it stay earned.
- One chapter is enough. A streak asks for one finished chapter a day. Reading more counts towards the chapter badges.
- Days follow your phone’s clock and time zone.

A badge unlocks the moment its condition is met, with a short notice on screen, and it is dated. The days badges reward faithfulness over time without demanding an unbroken run: fifty scattered mornings earn 50 days even if no streak ever passed a week.
Using it with a Bible reading plan
The app does not ship a fixed reading plan: no calendar telling you which chapters to read on 14 March. It gives you the counter instead, which works with any plan you already follow, printed or from your church. The arithmetic is simple: the Bible has 1,189 chapters, so about 3¼ chapters a day finishes it in one year, 4 a day in about ten months, and about 13 a day for a 90-day plan. The New Testament alone is 260 chapters: one a day takes under nine months, three a day about three months. The Progress screen shows chapters finished and the percentage, so you can see at a glance whether you are ahead of or behind your plan.
The Progress screen
The Today screen has tiles for your streak, chapters and badges; any of them opens the Progress screen. It shows your current and longest streak, the number of days you have read, chapters finished out of 1,189 with a percentage, the books you have completed, and every badge: earned ones with their date, the rest greyed out with what they need. Badge names appear in Hindi in Hindi mode and in English in Hinglish mode.
Nothing is ever taken away
Progress on your phone is only ever added to, and badges are never revoked: not by a broken streak, not by an app update, not by a change to the badge rules in a future version. Nothing is uploaded and there is no leaderboard; the record is between you and the Word. If you delete the app, the record goes with it. See where the app keeps your data.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as reading a chapter?
Scrolling to the last verse of a chapter, or tapping the next or previous button beneath it, records the chapter as read for that day. Each chapter counts once.
Do I lose my streak if I miss one day?
The streak survives as long as your last finished chapter was yesterday. If a full day passes with no chapter finished, the current streak resets, but your longest streak and any badges you earned are kept.
How many badges are there?
Seventeen: five for chapters read (1 to 500), four for streaks (3 to 100 days), two for total days read (50 and 365), and six for completing books: a first book, a Gospel, the Psalms, the New Testament, the Old Testament and the whole Bible.
Can a badge be taken away?
No. Once earned, a badge is permanent. Badges and progress survive app updates and are stored only on your phone.
Does the app have a one-year Hindi Bible reading plan?
Not a fixed calendar plan. It counts chapters finished out of 1,189 and shows the percentage, so it works alongside any plan: about 3¼ chapters a day completes the Bible in a year, about 13 a day in 90 days.
How do I start reading the Bible every day as a beginner?
Start with one chapter a day, from a Gospel such as Mark or from the Psalms. Read it to the end so the app records it, and let your streak remind you whether today is done. Badges mark the first chapter, the first week and the first book.
